Fantastic hamburgers made to perfection. The guacamole bacon burger was awesome! John Wayne was a regular back in the day. Comfortable seating and very attentive staff. I would eat here again
This place is NOT your typical tourist trap restaurant where they don't care about food quality because they aren't worried about repeat customers. This place is the real thing! Great food, decent prices, wide selection, and friendly staff. At 2pm on a Tuesday when most places are finished with the noon rush, they were packed and people just kept coming as fast as tables were cleared. There were quite a few locals there as well. Even though the place was packed, food quality and service standards remained high. It's worth a visit any time you are in the area. The movie history and John Wayne connection is just a bonus!
I was told by many people that "you have to eat at The True Grit Cafe." Well My husband and I were not disappointed. You could acutely taste the burger and the toppings just a bonus. The Loaded Chile cheese fries were spicy and delicious. The people were friendly and the serves was great.
Since I've heard good things from so many people, I figured I'd give it a try....zzzz. Why all the excitement? What's the big deal? Not bad at all, just average. And too expensive definitely.
We had a wonderful time there. The waitress was was great, even though we had 13 people in our group. She was very patient with us. Even though it took a while to get our food, (which was good) It was understandable with the large group.
